Summary: Data Center Electrical Commissioning Lead responsible for leading electrical commissioning activities for mission-critical data center infrastructure, including emergency power systems, UPS, power quality testing, thermal imaging, integrated systems testing, and reporting.

Job Requirements

  • Experience in electrical data center commissioning for major technology or mission-critical clients
  • Experience commissioning emergency electrical systems, including generators, automatic transfer switches, UPS systems, and redundant power distribution systems
  • Experience with power quality analysis, monitoring, and recording
  • Experience performing thermal imaging for electrical testing and commissioning
  • Knowledge of redundant power systems and system integration during testing
  • Experience conducting Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and Integrated Systems Testing (IST)
  • Experience reviewing construction documents for commissionability, redundancy, resiliency, and high-availability systems
  • Experience developing commissioning plans, narratives, prefunctional checklists, and functional performance tests tailored to data centers
  • Experience preparing final commissioning reports for major technology clients
  • Ability to coordinate commissioning site visits, schedules, and project deliverables
  • Ability to work with mechanical commissioning counterparts during execution of commissioning work

Preferred Skills

  • Experience supporting Tier III and Tier IV data centers
  • Experience leading project-specific electrical commissioning scopes
  • Experience training and mentoring junior commissioning personnel
  • Experience developing and leading electrical commissioning training programs
  • Experience with client-requested electrical testing beyond standard commissioning scopes

Job Responsibilities

  • Participate in on-site commissioning of critical electrical infrastructure, including generators, automatic transfer switches, UPS systems, power quality testing, thermal imaging, and redundant power systems
  • Oversee and execute project-specific electrical commissioning scopes for data center environments
  • Execute commissioning scope as directed by the Site Lead and management
  • Provide timely reporting to the Site Lead, including issues, risks, and items requiring immediate attention
  • Participate in commissioning meetings and communicate technical details related to electrical systems
  • Review construction documents for commissionability, with emphasis on redundancy, resiliency, and high-availability power systems
  • Direct development and review of commissioning plans, narratives, prefunctional checklists, and functional performance tests tailored to data centers
  • Assist in scheduling and coordinating commissioning site visits and deliverables for large data center projects
  • Conduct and document FAT, SAT, and IST activities
  • Monitor performance trends and analyze electrical system reliability for Tier III and Tier IV data centers
  • Perform testing for power quality analysis, monitoring, and recording
  • Perform thermal imaging as required by testing documents
  • Lead testing of emergency power systems, including generators, ATS, UPS, and related systems
  • Verify integration and performance of redundant power systems during commissioning activities
  • Prepare and submit final commissioning reports aligned with client expectations
  • Coordinate with mechanical commissioning counterparts in execution of commissioning activities
  • Train and mentor junior commissioning agents on electrical testing and data center commissioning practices
  • Develop and lead electrical training programs to standardize commissioning processes for mission-critical projects


Pay Details: $60.00 to $70.00 per hour
