Machine Operator responsible for setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and inspecting CNC, EDM, and ECM machining equipment in a manufacturing environment.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in EDM, CNC, ECM, tooling production, or equivalent manufacturing experience
  • Experience setting up, operating, and troubleshooting CNC, EDM, or ECM machines
  • Ability to read blueprint drawings
  • Ability to read and follow setup instructions, process sheets, and machining specifications
  • Ability to use calipers, micrometers, precision dial gauges, and related precision measurement tools
  • Ability to inspect machined parts for conformance to specifications
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull at least 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to work overtime as required, including occasional weekend shifts
  • U.S. Person status required due to technical data subject to U.S. Government export restrictions

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with computerized shop floor tools
  • Experience following written instructions for manufacturing or assembly tasks
  • Experience performing machining operations on metal castings, forgings, and bar stock
  • Experience with fast hole drilling or graphite shaping
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Experience working in a manufacturing shop environment

Job Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC, EDM, and ECM machines
  • Perform machining operations, fast hole drilling, and graphite shaping on metal castings, forgings, and bar stock
  • Study blueprints and setup instructions to determine machining requirements, dimensional specifications, work procedures, and methods
  • Determine tool lengths, maintain tool change lists, and make program measuring adjustments
  • Install work holding devices, blocks, and tooling on machine tables using hand tools
  • Lift, position, and secure workpieces manually or with material handling equipment
  • Select and install tooling according to process sheets
  • Place electrodes in automatic tool changers when required
  • Observe numerical displays on control panels and compare data with process sheets
  • Verify dimensional adjustments, feed rates, and machining speeds
  • Check machine programs at the start of each shift
  • Inspect first-run pieces for conformance to specifications
  • Maintain measured dimension lists
  • Record and inspect key dimensions using micrometers, calipers, precision dial gauges, and related tools
  • Support safety, compliance, quality, and productivity requirements in production operations


Pay Details: $25.00 to $29.00 per hour
