Field Technician
Utility Field Technician responsible for field data collection, utility inventory, CAD support, and make-ready work for overhead and underground utility construction projects.
Job Requirements
- Experience performing field tasks related to overhead and underground utility systems
- Experience supporting utility construction, relocation, and make-ready projects
- Experience working around pole lines, utility structures, and related field infrastructure
- Experience using field data collection tools for utility inventory and project documentation
- Experience with overhead electrical and communications detailing
- Ability to interpret DOT plans and roadway project details
- Ability to support field work for State DOT-funded construction and relocation projects
- Experience producing and updating CAD drawings for utility construction projects
- Experience supporting projects involving electric municipalities, cooperatives, natural gas, water/sewer utilities, telecommunications, CATV, or fiber optic providers
Preferred Skills
- Experience using the IKE device for field data collection, inventory management, and make-ready work
- Bentley software experience
- AutoCAD experience
- OpenRoads experience
- Experience with utility pole line inventory processes
- Experience coordinating CAD updates with field data and project requirements
Job Responsibilities
- Perform field tasks related to overhead and underground utility systems
- Support construction and relocation projects involving utility infrastructure
- Collect accurate field data using the IKE device and related field tools
- Complete utility inventory documentation for pole lines and related infrastructure
- Support make-ready work for overhead utility and communications systems
- Produce and update CAD drawings for utility construction projects
- Apply Bentley and AutoCAD skills to support field activities and project documentation
- Interpret DOT plans, roadway details, and project requirements
- Verify field work alignment with utility construction and relocation project requirements
- Support overhead electrical and communications detailing
- Coordinate field data, CAD updates, and project documentation with project teams
- Work on projects involving electric, natural gas, water/sewer, telecommunications, CATV, and fiber optic utility systems
Pay Details: $40.00 to $45.00 per hour
