Tire Engineer (Mechanical Engineer or equivalent)

Supports tire construction, manufacturing processes, cost control, product specifications, and production quality through analysis, auditing, and corrective-action activities.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent technical experience

• Minimum of two years of tire manufacturing experience preferred

• Technical knowledge of manufacturing processes and production quality requirements

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

• Experience using Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and documentation

• Ability to follow established engineering processes and procedures

• Experience maintaining technical specifications and production documentation

Preferred Skills

• Tire construction and processing experience

• Cured tire analysis experience

• Experience supporting tire research and development activities

• Manufacturing quality or process engineering experience

• Experience investigating defects and implementing corrective actions

• AS400 experience

• Experience working within a unionized manufacturing environment

Job Responsibilities

• Perform cured tire analysis to evaluate construction, performance, processing, and quality

• Review tires released to production for compliance with engineering requirements

• Coordinate test tire procurement with production and research and development teams

• Monitor manufacturing defects and corrective-action activities

• Issue quality instructions and production requirements

• Audit factory processes for compliance with tire specifications and manufacturing standards

• Maintain and update tire specifications

• Analyze manufacturing data related to tire quality, processing, construction, and cost

• Prepare engineering reports and production documentation

• Conduct technical training related to tire construction, quality requirements, and manufacturing processes

• Support continuous improvement activities for tire performance and production quality

• Investigate production and quality issues affecting released tire designs

Pay: 55-70/hr
