Design Engineer

Mechanical Tooling Design role focused on custom weld fixtures, assembly fixtures, automation systems, robotic work cells, and heavy equipment manufacturing support.

Job Requirements

• 3–5+ years of tool, fixture, or automation design experience
• Experience designing manual or automated weld fixtures
• Experience designing assembly fixtures
• Experience designing fixtures for heavy equipment parts or assemblies
• Engineering degree preferred
• Associate degree with relevant experience may be considered
• CAD proficiency required
• CREO experience strongly preferred
• SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, Unigraphics, or similar CAD package experience accepted
• Experience developing 3D mechanical designs and detailed part documentation
• Experience performing engineering calculations for static and dynamic systems
• Experience creating technical drawings, mechanical layouts, and production documentation

Preferred Skills

• Heavy equipment manufacturing fixture design experience
• Robotic work cell design experience
• Custom automation system design experience
• Precision positioning equipment design experience
• ProE/CREO experience
• SolidWorks experience
• Experience supporting fabrication, machine build, controls, project management, estimating, sales, production, or service teams
• Experience taking mechanical designs from concept through build, testing, and service support

Job Responsibilities

• Design manual and automated weld fixtures for heavy equipment parts and assemblies
• Design manual and automated assembly fixtures for manufacturing applications
• Lead mechanical design of custom automation systems
• Conceptualize and detail robotic work cells, tooling, and precision positioning equipment
• Develop and document 3D mechanical designs using CAD software
• Create mechanical designs from concept through build, testing, and service support
• Perform engineering calculations for static and dynamic systems
• Create technical drawings, mechanical layouts, and detailed part documentation
• Support production and procurement with design documentation
• Collaborate with fabrication, machine build, controls, and project management teams
• Review customer technical requirements during design and development
• Ensure mechanical designs meet project specifications, quotations, and purchase order terms
• Support estimating, sales, production, and service departments with technical design input
• Manage design timelines to support project schedules

Pay Details: $38.00 to $44.00 per hour
