Job Description:
Sr Maintenance Tech. will support electrical systems including software interface support (LabVIEW experience required), have knowledge/experience w/ Thermal Control &/or Vacuum chamber operations & mechanical assembly.
Responsibilities -
• Supports all engineering/test systems & equip.
• Prioritizes/plans workload to ensure smooth, uninterrupted operation of all electrical systems & related software interfaces (LabVIEW).
• Supports/stays current w/ all required equip documentation/status & maintenance reports.
• Guides/instructs others regarding need/requirements for safe & appropriate operation of systems/equip.
• Maintains working relationships w/ external companies/vendors as needed to ensure calibration, testing needs are met & equip properly maintained.
 
Requirements:
• Seek innovative solutions using latest tools & tech to improve test equip concepts
• Understand industry standard environmental testing & equip (MIL-STD-810, DO-160)
• Possess working knowledge of the following Engineering disciplines:
• Software: LabVIEW w/ migrate systems from version 2010 to version 2015. Knowledge of software design practices, including user interface design & hardware interface communication.
• Electrical: AC & DC circuits, Analog & digital signals, PLCs, electrical design practices
• Thermal Control design: Knowledge of thermal transfer principles, thermal management techniques, Vacuum chamber operations
• Mechanical Assembly: Mechanical fabrication & assembly operations, read, interpret & generate mechanical drawings
• Implements methods to plan, track progress & remain on schedule.
• Anticipate problems & develop sound solutions/action plans
Abilities -
• Strong written & verbal communication skills
• Work under limited supervision
• Operate equip such as hand tools, tubing benders, & calibrated gauges
• Safely lift up to 50lbs
• Safely use step ladders regularly
• Cand must possess the aptitude to read & follow written manufacturing instructions & technical procedures as well as interpret blueprints/engineering drawings & sketches
• Experience handling of hazardous materials in accordance w/ OSHA & industry standards
• Demonstrates high level of concern for safety
• Willing to work flexible schedules as needed to meet delivery dates
• Computer skills; MS Word, MS Excel, & Outlook
 
Required Experience -
• Bach. or Assoc. Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
• 10+ years’ experience w/ test engineering (requirements development, test design, qualification testing, automation, etc.) in an aerospace, defense &/or mfg. industry.
Pos. may be filled one lower to include candidates w/ at least 7+ years’ experience w/ Engineering BA or AA in a relevant discipline, or equivalent
