Job Description:
Summary:
The Senior Estimator is responsible for the timely, accurate and consistent estimates of electrical projects to include but not limited to distribution, power and lighting.
Responsibilities:
• Develop plan & spec and design build estimates; heavy design build
• Develop and communicate the trade specific scope of work
• Review all architectural, structural, mechanical, and specialty systems drawing and specifications
• Review specifications and input requirements into company recap spreadsheet.
• Review all documents as it relates to the project.
• Compile a list of necessary subcontractors (minimum three per trade)
• Develop subcontractor scopes
• Communicate Request for Proposal (RFP), scope, and coordination items
• Will not be responsible for providing feedback or making commitments
• Compile a list of required materials and equipment as it relates to the project
• Attend pre-bid conferences and walkthroughs
• Entry of take-offs into Accubid/Enterprise 7 estimating system
• Assist in the development of budget estimates
• Develop standardized assemblies and unit costs
• Review project schedule and phasing requirements
• Understand plan for constructability: Material handling, Pre-fabrication, Means and methods, Identify risk
• Identify general condition needs: Tools required, Equipment rentals, Lifts and misc.
• Participate in project turnover and setup
• Participate in post project reviews
• Participate in the design meetings with customers until GMP
 
Requirements:
• 10 to 15 years of electrical estimating experience in a related industry.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical specifications and drawings.
• Working knowledge of codes in the electrical discipline.
• Proficient in the use of standard office computer programs such as MS Project, Google G Suite Applications, PDF File Editor Programs, Word, and Excel.
• Strong organizational skills to deal with completing customer needs.
• Ability to foresee events and anticipate changes and respond to them in a proactive manner.
