Job Description:
PURPOSE: This position is responsible to effectively contribute to quality assurance department activities and quality control policy adherence for our Extrusion. With the responsibility of testing product conformance to specification, maintaining quality equipment, train associates on use of test equipment, provide advanced testing and inspection, develop and maintain quality documentation and utilize quality tools to drive continuous improvement through production and engineering in pursuit of stable and capable extrusion processes.  
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Support the development and implementation of quality assurance tools, measuring equipment, gauges, programs, training, documents and standard operating procedures for critical to quality production processes ensuring consistent manufacturability of profile extrusions.
• Responsible for the preparation and execution of quality control testing, including the review of specifications, tolerances, capabilities and preparation of necessary supporting documentation and justification.
• Responsible for executing Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) testing including material property testing, performance testing, first article inspection, dimensional capability analysis and preparation of test data for PSW submittals.
• Responsible for maintaining all quality control tools including standard operating procedures, calibration, tracking, preventive / autonomous maintenance and implementation of new quality control equipment / processes as needed.
• Responsible for coordinating, developing and maintaining measurement system programming for quality control equipment.
• Assist in the development and verification of new test standards, gauges and equipment for assessing conformance of manufactured parts to engineering specifications and to meet the changing and growing customer requirements.
• Drive corrective action through root cause identification and structured problem solving. Perform root cause analysis to find sources of variation and process problems as it relates to quality control testing, and use DMAIC tools to resolve them.
• Use Statistical Process Control to identify out-of-control conditions and provide data analysis to reduce process variation.
• Assist in corrective actions and containment activities when reactive issues arise and support operations to ensure all customer / product complaints are worked towards resolution in a timely manner.
• Interface with Product Design, Product Engineering, Tooling Design and other business partners on the design for manufacturability, process capability and testing of new product or product revisions.
 
Requirements:
Qualifications
QUALIFICATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
• 2 or 4 year degree in Technology/Engineering or equivalent experience
• 2 + years’ experience in manufacturing/quality environment.
• Knowledge of quality programs, SPC, process capability and lean manufacturing principles.
• Evidence of responsibility for verifying product conformance to specifications either in a quality role or production role.
• Able to read and interpret drawings, specifications and standards.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to gather and analyze data through statistical techniques: perform and analyze process capability studies.
• Demonstrated ability to multitask and work in a fast pace flexible environment.
• Usage of computer software tools, such as Excel or Minitab, to analyze data to detect trends and abnormalities.
• Preferred experience with programming optical vision systems for dimensional measurement and AutoCAD experience for designing gauges.
• Desire to continue to grow and develop personally.
