Job Description:
Candidate may be proficient in either Import -or- Export compliance and logistics processes. Coordinate with internal requestors and foreign suppliers for international shipment transactions. Prepare documentation for customs declarations. Arrange transportation with freight forwarders. Knowledge of international shipment requirements – harmonized code, ACE filings for import (ABI) or export (EEI), documentation requirements for international declarations, role of the customs broker or freight forwarding agent. Prepare instructions for agents. Knowledge of international procedures and regulations, supply chain, accounts payable, record keeping. Process billing invoices associated with international shipment transactions. Familiarity with 19CFR Customs Duties, FTR, EAR, ITAR, IATA/ICAO.
• 3-5 years’ experience in either Import or Export Compliance, international logistics field
• Self-starter, detail oriented, result driven.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, Access.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
-Distinguishing Characteristics: Ability to assess a transaction and determine best declaration option, consider cause-and-effect impact for international transaction (point A to point B). Attention to detail and work on multiple transactions concurrently. Innovative thinking and sound judgment to effectively resolve problems. Strong decision-making skills and judgment. Awareness of fundamental compliance requirements.
