Job Description:
The Project Manager is responsible for all aspects of the fabrication and installation scope of work on projects from beginning to end, with direct responsibility for project execution, while accomplishing specific objectives within budget and time frame. This individual is responsible for daily management, supervision, coordination, and successful completion of projects in accordance with project schedules, as well as achieving project profitability and client satisfaction. This position is a combination of both office and field activities.
• Receive, review and understand engineering drawings for fabrication.  
• Review job contracts and sales specifications on projects.
• Review quotes, negotiate and write contracts with subcontractors.
• Work closely with project engineer, coordinators and purchasing to ensure fabrication is correct and on schedule.
• Create Bill of Materials required to purchase materials required for fabrication and monitor to ensure schedules and quality are met.
• Review and approve purchase orders and invoices from vendors and contractors for work performed.
• Schedule and track projects throughout the fabrication and installation process using tracking software and adjust weekly as required.
• Estimate and manage job costs for review against budget to ensure cost effectiveness.
• Maintain strong communication with customers, engineering, fabricators, vendors and suppliers during the project;
• Inspect equipment during the fabrication process.
• Act as quality liaison with customer representative to ensure quality standards are met.
• Travel to work sites to oversee construction of projects.
• Ensure all phases of work are completed accurately per issued drawings and specifications.
• Invoice customers per agreed contract terms & conditions for work performed and forward to Accounting Department for processing.
• Create and or review submitted change orders as needed for each project.
• Prepare cost estimates of equipment for Sales Department.
• Prepare reports as required by management.
Candidate Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in project management or related field, or 2 year degree/experience combination.  
• 2-5 years in project management, Welding/fabrications shop or related field.
• Computer proficiency in MS Office programs. (knowledge of Viewpoint and Microsoft Project Mgr. preferred)
• Must have valid driver’s license.
• Strong math aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Proven negotiation skills.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as engineering drawings, specifications, safety rules, operating instructions, etc.  
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations, engineering principles, fabrication processes and construction methods.
• Ability to handle 3-5 projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Ability to proactively manage changes in project scope.
• Strong leadership skills.  
• Strong verbal, written, interpersonal communication and networking skills.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to details and ability to work independently with minimal supervision to efficiently complete assignments.
• 10-50% travel required.
• Ability to work in a variety of physical conditions. (climbing, sitting, bending)
