Job Description:
The STAC Leader will manage the STAC activities for these substation projects, working with all the involved parties to ensure the activities are completed correctly, on time, and on budget. Provides project coordination for STAC Processes applicable to a portfolio of complex transmission projects. Responsible for overall coordination, scheduling and execution for STAC Processes as identified within the project lifecycle and project schedule. Schedules and ensures availability or seeks out adequate resources for projects and engage stakeholders to complete all Protection and Control- specific activities. Works closely with STAC Manager and STAC Regional Implementation Team to enhance project STAC portfolio, continue to develop STAC processes and execute STAC-specific activities. Occasionally prepares executive reports and/or presentations related to project performance and Root Cause Analysis results. Provides STAC activities’ management, leadership and coordination for multiple electric power complex transmission line and substation projects. As the liaison to project managers, project controls, engineering, supply chain, field operations and vendors, facilitate the involvement of functions (both internal and external) including design, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and operations. Resource Management. Assures that adequate resources are identified and assigned through internal and external sources. Develops schedules with Project Controls, ensures that quality control issues are addressed in design packages, construction and commissioning, including making provision for company and/or third party construction inspection and validation when required. Oversees the technical inspection process or coordinates closely with Construction Management to ensure compliance with specifications, policies and standards. Integration. Facilitates sequencing and completion for all Protection and Control deliverables, ensures initiation and completion of all CIP Change Control Processes, and ensures resources are available as planned to perform the relays acceptance testing, wiring checks, pre-commissioning testing and field commissioning. Ensures that all issues discovered during the various project phases are recorded and resolved. Facilitate all pre-commissioning testing activities at Integration Testing Center and on the field. Executes Root Cause Analysis and Lessons Learned processes and communicates results. Maintains close collaboration with Standards development and review teams and continues to develop and improve STAC processes. relationships with those internal organizations and external entities.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience as related to relay programming, relay panel wiring, substation commissioning and/or substation design with strong background in project management and/or project coordination and process implementation. The candidate must have experience with Primavera P6 - web application, Microsoft Office tools, and Project Wise. The candidate must have experience and previously worked with Bargaining Unit employees and workgroups.
