Job Description:
• Lays out, positions, and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications, using straightedge, combination square, calipers, and ruler
• Tack-welds components and assemblies, using electric, gas, arc, or other welding equipment
• Cuts work piece, using powered saws, hand shears, or chipping knife
• Observes tests on welded surfaces, such as hydrostatic, x-ray, and dimension tolerance to evaluate weld quality and conformance to specifications
• Inspects grooves, angles, or gap allowances, using micrometer, caliper, and precision measuring instruments
• Removes tough spots from work piece, using portable grinder, hand file, or scraper
• Welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions
• Heats, forms, and dresses metal parts, using hand tools, torch, or arc welding equipment
• Ignites torch and adjusts valves, amperage, or voltage to obtain desired flame or arc
• Analyzes engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations
• Develops templates and other work aids to hold and align parts
• Determines required equipment and welding method, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques
Basic Qualifications:
• 5-7 years of experience
• Must be able to work from prints and have prior experience in structural builds:
• Knowledge and experience with required tools
• This position will be responsible for welding assembly and fabrication on various large scale piping structures.  
Basic Qualifications:
• At least 5 years of experience in pipe welding
• Proficient with all welding procedures including MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux Core
• Proficient in welding all grades of steel and alloys
• Experience fabricating and welding stainless steel and carbon pipes
• Must have a high school diploma
Preferred Skills and Experience:
• Proficient in blueprint reading and layout
• Able to communicate clearly with team members  
Additional Requirements:
• General physical fitness is required for some work areas. Must be capable of climbing into and working in tight quarters
• Able to lift heavy objects is required in this position (?50lbs)
• Typically exposed to work in extreme outdoor environments including heat, cold, and rain
• Work performed in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noise
