JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an experienced welder to operate all welding equipment and perform position welding functions with a high degree of proficiency.  Will be required to maintain welding certification by passing welding tests conducted by the Quality Control department.
• Reviews daily welding production with Lead or Foreman to insure awareness of requirements.                  
• May read blue prints to determine required weld locations, components and layouts.
• Operates all position and wire welding equipment used in the department.                            
• Welds component parts as required, referring to prints or product books as necessary.             
• Performs grinding and deburring duties required in the process of producing finished, high quality welding projects.                       
• Reports immediately to the supervisor any and all problems which may affect safety, equipment, tooling and/or quality.                
• Completes all proficiency requirements and passes all performance tests to become fully certified as a welder.                               
• Inspects work periodically to insure that welds are consistent with approved levels of quantity and quality established by the company.                                        
• Obtains necessary materials and tools from the tool bin or storage areas and transports such to the work station.
• May manufacture prototype brackets to be used on new, changed or proposed products.
• Repairs any re-weld to AWS standard and field welding.
• Operates bar code scanner / computer.
• Sets up and changes welding machine for different welding processes, applications, sizes when required.
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Must have one (1) year of Vocational, Technical education or equivalent
• Must have High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be capable of satisfactorily passing the company welding test.
• Qualified to AWS D 1.1 - 2G, 4F GMAW, DIN EN ISO 9606-1 Butt Filet-PA, PB, PC, PD, PE, FCAW, SMAW, requalify if warranted by AWS D 1.1 Clause 4
• All welders must be capable of passing Jager Eye examination, annually
• Must pass job knowledge examination
