Job Description:
Summary-
Be accountable as company’s interface with the customer concerning the Purchase Orders and contracts, insuring that the projects are clearly defined. Communicate the project to functional managers with follow-up to make certain they develop and implement the necessary plans for successful completion of the project. Managing all project scope changes and providing updated quotations to the customer for additional scope.  Ensure billing for each job has been completed and that company is paid for all work performed on the customers behalf.
Duties-
• Develops a thorough understanding of the project by reviewing the proposal, purchase order, customer specifications and other pertinent background data. Identifies deficiencies or inconsistencies and stimulates corrective action.
• Takes major responsibility in defining major elements of the project and orchestrates a common understanding and matching of expectations between company and the customer.
• Responsible for review of External PO required delivery dates and verifies delivery date or proposes alternative date at the time of PO receipt.
• Prepares project milestone schedule and monitors project to schedule, cost/profit and acceptance.
• Organizes and conducts company team meetings.
• Monitors and reports progress against the plan of schedule and cost, involving appropriate management to resolve the problem areas. This involves open issues reports, critical issues reports, team meetings, and plan updates.
• Takes major responsibility in communicating with the customer on project status, coordinating approvals and administering changes in conjunction with Contract Administration. Conveys to the customer that changes affect cost and schedule.
• Reviews the scope of work proposed in the Project proposal/quotation and verifies the customer PO matches scope of work and terms are as quoted.
• Coordinates approvals and administering changes in conjunction with Contract Administration. Conveys to the customer that changes affect cost and schedule.
• Keeps specifications and cost estimate up-to-date.
• Takes major responsibility in preparing post-mortem report on each project.
• Defines and approves invoicing information.
 
Requirements:
• Customer Relations/Contract Administration experience is a must.
• Must have relative experience in manufacturing in a machine shop environment.
• Must have a high degree of self-motivation and be tenacious.
• Must be able to work with all disciplines and levels of management, both internally and externally.
Experience-
• Five to ten years’ experience in a similar field
• Bachelor’s degree required, which provides occupationally-specific knowledge.
• In absence of a Bachelor’s degree, 5 or more years of experience in a similar field
• Proficient understanding of scheduling and software applications (e.g. Microsoft Project) is required
• Proficient use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint software
