Job Description:
Machine Design Drafter with hands on experience

• Develop accurate and concise detail drawings of individual machine components (mechanical) using detailed models, hand sketches and/or verbal instructions.
• Establish detail part dimensions and tolerances from layout drawings, reference materials, and other information received from designers and engineers.
• Generate complete and accurate BOM's for mechanical assemblies.
• Develop accurate models of individual components using the correct "start part" information provided through literature or verbal instructions.
• Develop assembly drawings from detailed models and purchased component literature.
• Thoroughly review drawings, assemblies and BOM's for accuracy.
• Ensure that all mechanical drawings comply with departmental and industry standards.
• Make revisions and/or corrections to drawings from approved engineering change requests.
• Support design, build and debug processes by updating print packages from redlined prints and/or verbal instructions.
• Utilize the appropriate support software to complete day-to-day tasks (i.e., AutoCAD, Pro-E, Lotus Notes, Movex, AS400, PDM, etc.). (Will consider SOLIDWORKS)
Candidate Qualifications:
• Two-year Associates Degree in Electrical / Mechanical Technology, CAD Technology, degree/diploma in mechanical drafting (or equivalent related degree required).
• Working knowledge of Pro/Engineer software and familiarity with AutoCAD
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with three-dimensional solid modeling software.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the detailed drafting of automated manufacturing equipment and components.
• Familiar with the use of Lotus and Microsoft software products.
• Ability to effectively function in a team oriented environment
• Good understanding of ANSI & ASME drafting standards
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Good understanding of how accuracy affects quality, cost and duration of a project
• Good mathematical aptitude and computer literacy
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
• Strong drive and initiative for continuous improvement
