Job Description:
Perform Design Engineering duties with responsibility for project management; functionality, integrity and reliability of newly designed parts and support of existing programs.
• Design subject parts, assuring the identification of critical and non-critical characteristics, probable design flaws, and potential opportunities for improvement.
• Propose and reach consensus on design, material, process, manufacturability and cost improvement plans for parts and/or groups of parts.
• Participate in creation and review of project budgets and schedules.
• Support the production of manufacturing data packages.
• Lead, track, manage, and report on the project tasks assigned.
• Document product designs by preparing bills of materials, cost analysis, 3-D Models, drawings, and engineering change requests.
• Monitor and maintain product configuration.
• Work with other members of the engineering staff to ensure that work is completed in a timely manner.
 
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:
• A bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electronic engineering, mechanical or electronic design, materials science or related field is preferred. Minimum experience typically: 1-4 years.
• Proficient with the use of PTC Creo.
• Knowledge and experience with Solidworks or other cad software is a plus.
• Strong working knowledge of GD&T.
• Excellent communication skills (oral, written, and listening).
• Exceptional organizational skills and high attention to detail.
• Knowledge of Government Contracting requirements helpful.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse groups; team player.
• The ability to manage multiple tasks with very little supervision.
• Ability to analyze data, set goals, determine and implement strategies.
• Knowledge of Quality assurance practices and procedures
• Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with project partners and staff.
• Demonstrates proficiency with MS office software.
