Job Description:
Primary function is to evaluate, develop and document manufacturing processes to provide greater productivity and efficiency.   
1. Actively seek out high waste activities and drive efforts to reduce waste in the machine shop
2. Identify opportunities for capital improvement projects; write capital proposals and manage projects, budgets, and timelines
3. Develop innovative new processes, set-up new lines, and work cross-functionally with other departments
4. Evaluate opportunities for improvements against company goals to both existing platforms and beyond; validate feasibility, oversee implementation, and evaluate effectiveness of efforts
5. Lead team-driven activities related to continuous improvement such as Kaizen events, 5S+1, process flow, cost improvements, etc.
6. Lead small group(s) of production/technical employees to determine root cause of problems; use problem solving tools to mitigate risk
7. Perform work on machines and hand processes as part of observation process
8. Develop and improve manufacturing plans based on capacity and resource utilization
9. Create standard works and work instructions for manufacturing processes; ensure all new equipment is properly documented
10. Design experiments and collect data for statistical analysis
11. Perform statistical analysis of existing or proposed manufacturing processes to determine if objectives of the process can be reliably met
12. Conduct process failure mode and effects analysis (PFMEA) to determine the reliability of new and existing manufacturing processes
13. Create fixture drawings using SolidEdge
14. Perform general duties as assigned and assist in other areas as workload requires
1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field and 5+ years related experience
2. Advanced math skills including ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, area, volume, circumference and rate; ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
3. Self-starter, motivated and resourceful
4. Detail oriented with a strong work ethic
5. Results-driven with a focus to exceed goals and objectives
6. Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization, both verbally and in writing
1. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
2. Mechanical aptitude
3. Experience in a CNC Manufacturing Environment
