Description of Duties-
The Facilities Maintenance Electrician will install, maintain and troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits, motors, systems, facilities, and related electrical controls and devices. This position will also inspect and certify work is in compliance with state and local electrical codes. Responsibilities include:
• Electrical project management – Evaluate, install and commission electrical installations
• Calculate power requirements for electrical systems
• Work with Master Electrician of Record to pull permits with the state board of electricity for all new electrical projects
• Contact and be responsible for interaction with electrical inspectors
• Perform electrical facilities functions, follow procedures insure facility equipment runs at peak efficiencies, and promote the safe operation and work areas
• Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot facilities related equipment
• Proactively participate and anticipate opportunities that would enhance the productivity and functionality of our equipment, through automation or other techniques
• Assist in the training within the department as assigned
• Perform assigned and/or scheduled electrical maintenance on all facility equipment
• Understand and practice Lock out/Tag out procedures, and identify potential safety problems related to production equipment and work areas
• Report major breakdowns and critical downtime to Operations Manager, Facilities Maintenance Manager, or other effected managers
• Maintains company tools, electrical parts and supplies
• Participates in the installation of and updating of production equipment
• Other duties as assigned, to included, but not limited to, office moves, light carpentry, snow removal, and drain cleaning
 
Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent and ability to read and write basic English
• Class A Journeymen Electrician license with the State of MN
• 2+ years maintenance experience in the facilities, property management, hotel, or apartment industry including plumbing and electrical repair, carpentry, and sheet rocking; HVAC experience and/or engineer boiler license preferred
• Experience in heat pumps, filtration, flooring, locks, door hardware, security systems, roofing, lighting, cooling towers, chemical water treatment, lawn care, irrigation systems, landscaping, and snow removal
• Reading and interpreting blue prints, engineering drawings, sketches, OEM instructions, and specifications
• Strong mechanical, electrical, mathematical, and analytical skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
• Previous participation on a safety team and/or other safety training a plus
