JOB DESCRIPTION
Energy & Electronics Business Group is seeking a self-motivated individual to help develop, prototype and test driving schemes for battery packs. Potential applications range from consumer electronics to electric vehicles and industrial energy storage. You will help implement and develop driving algorithms for battery pack charging and discharging that improve performance and safety. You will be responsible for setting-up, monitoring and analyzing test sequences on high-precision battery test equipment. You will collaborate with a team of senior scientists to understand, quantify and communicate the value propositions associated with the demonstrated improvements. Seeking a motivated, up and coming leader with excellent people, project-management and development skills.
 
Responsibilities:
• Interfacing of automation R script with high-precision battery test equipment.
• Setting-up database/testing equipment connections
• Setting-up test fixtures including wiring, connecting cells, plumbing and building battery packs
• Running experiments and monitoring for exceptions
• Cell characterization before and after experimentation
• Setting-up and debugging new automation scripts for new utility functions / figures of merit and new variables
• Condensing data, performing data analysis and reporting results
• Performing cell teardowns and identifying root cause of failure
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor level or equivalent experience
• Preferably electrical background, possibly mechanical background
• Experience with programming (minimum R, Python) and user interface prototyping
• Experience with SQL, MS Access database
• Strong experimental skills
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose and solve problems with complex systems
• Demonstrated ability to manage timelines and scope to ensure timely project completion
