Job Description:
We are looking for an Electrical Manufacturing Technician who will be involved with all aspects of electrical control panel production. This includes assembly and installation of components, installation and terminating wire, quality control, and electrically testing the panel down to the circuit level. Additionally, this position will provide support to engineering should quality issues or improvement opportunities be identified.
Duties:
Layout, assemble, and wire electrical control panels
o Hands on mechanical assembly and electrical wiring
o Assist other production staff
• Help answer any questions that arise during production
• Show examples of proper workmanship
• Double check completed work
o Provide feedback to engineering
• Redline documentation
• Provide suggestions for improvements to better support future orders
o Participate in the testing process
o Assist with final QC, packaging, and shipment
• Assist in ongoing design and development and design of Control Panels
o Review quotation and any available drawings to provide design feedback to engineering
• Check for proper tooling
• Unique materials (especially commodity items like hardware and wire)
• Confirm if proper infrastructure is in place to physically and safely assembly the product (material handling carts, cranes, etc.)
• Confirm packaging solution is adequate
• Review panel layout for manufacturability, wire routing, and compliance Develop test procedures with assistance from engineering when required
• Assist with daily operations of the manufacturing plant
o Help with resolve issues on current products
• Incorrect or unclear document clarification
• Clarify incorrectly built product and request reworked product
o Bring issues to the attention of engineering when clarification is required
o Handle the setup and adjustment of the Work Center Standardization
o Give direction on what non-standard jobs contain and help shepherd the job into production
 
Requirements:
Responsibilities:
• Associates Degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent experience
• 3+ years manufacturing experience
• PLC troubleshooting/programming experience highly preferred. Technical PLC coursework will be considered
• Ability to read and understand schematics
• Understanding of basic electrical circuits
• Willingness to work both in the office and on the production floor
• Willingness to attend training courses
