Job Description:
The person hired for the position of Technician Quality will perform assigned standard tests, experiments, and other tasks using established procedures required for product development, process scale-ups, or production processes. The employee will also be responsible for material inspection, in-process samples, and final product testing to ensure company quality standards are met and maintained.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Perform assigned tests, inspections, and other tasks to determine specific characteristics of materials, in-process and final product samples using established procedures as required to ensure product quality. Perform mathematical calculations of test data to compare results to standards and identify variances.
• Prepares, operates, and maintains test equipment through calibrations and standardization procedures.
• Document, interpret, and maintain test results and records. Prepare reports as required. Communicates test results to appropriate staff. Respond to inquiries as necessary.
• Completes special requests from engineers, group leaders and/or supervisor.
• Participates as a team member on problem solving teams.
• Willingness to work 12 hour rotating shifts, work overtime, and be on-call as necessary
 
Requirements:
• Between 1-3 years of related job experience are generally required. Also required are vocational, mathematical, and communication skills. In addition, basic computer skills are required for data entry, analysis, and retrieval.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
• Lab experience utilizing various testing methods including viscometry, rheometry, chromatography (GC, LC, IC), FTIR, ICP, and XRF technologies.
• Additional skills include a strong work ethic, the ability to multi-task and prioritize, excellent time management skills, and a willingness to learn and utilize new skills and technologies to complete assigned tasks.
