Job Description:
Participate in supporting day to day production planning and purchasing activities based on department need. The individual will interface closely with Production Planning and Purchasing to achieve on-time shipment, inventory control and production schedule performance objectives. Create work orders and update as needed to provide support to Production Planners. Purchase materials, components, goods and services and provide purchasing assistance and support to Buyers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Utilize ERP system as needed to assist with purchasing/planning functions.
• Prepare work orders and release to production from an analysis of MRP and/or production rates.
• Update work order dates based on input from production floor.
• Issue purchase orders and change orders for assigned commodities, ensure that proper internal documentation (requisitions/approvals) and external documentation (specifications, drawings) are provided by requestors and to suppliers and follow up as necessary.   Communicate problems with material availability to appropriate supervisor.
• Maintain open communications with support departments in resolving day to day problems.   Work effectively with all functional teams inside and outside our organization to establish and maintain schedules and inventory levels to meet customer delivery needs  
 
Requirements:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED FOR POSITION:   
• Associate's degree in business management or engineering preferred and a minimum of two — three years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Requires a thorough understanding of manufacturing operations, ERP/MRP systems, and engineering processes.
• Requires an understanding and experience in Operational Excellence through Continuous Improvement using lean thinking and tools.
• Must have intermediate to advanced computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Lean manufacturing experience (desired).
• CPIM certification (desired).
• Knowledge of FDA QSR systems and/or ISO 13485 processes (desired).
