Job Description:
Affordable Housing Specialist:
This role is to audit site files regarding compliance with Section 42 and Section 8 affordable housing programs.
• Performs resident file inspections to ensure that all filing requirements are met
• Monitors compliance with all state, federal, and local laws as they relate to housing
• Ensures compliance with site compliance programs, tax credit and Section 8 recertification timelines, and annual recertification for section 8 and section 42.
• Assists site manager with legal proceedings involving compliance regulations/terminations
Candidate Qualifications:
• 1-4 years of industry experience in residential real estate or affordable housing experience
• Experience working with diverse communities including residents with limited English proficiency
• Detail-oriented, with strong organizational, problem solving, and administrative skills
• Bilingual in English and Somali preferred
• MFHA/MARIF/TIF housing compliance experience preferred
• COS, COM, and HCCM designation preferred.
