ENTEGEE is seeking a Senior ADMS/SCADA TECHNICAL CONSULTANT for a 12-month contract position with a utility client in Denver, CO.
Only W2 candidates will be considered for this position.
This role will be responsible developing, documenting, and implementing ADMS (Advanced Distribution Management System)/SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) standards across all four Operating Companies. With the build-out of Grid Modernization, this role will configure and manage ADMS/SCADA communication front end processors to support communicating to 10,000+ remote field devices. The ADMS/SCADA system will interface with the Client XA/21 SCADA system. This role will design, construct, and maintain the two-way communication flow between Client XA/21 and ADMS/SCADA, working with Business Systems real-time XA/21 support team.
• Provides subject matter expertise in the requested technology or application
• Assists client in implementing, upgrading or optimizing specific technology
• Utilizes professional expertise to perform analysis, project management and/or development activities with technology
• Develops and maintains ADMS/SCADA standards for Client to be used across all Client operating companies; this includes protocol configuration standards and SCADA user interface configuration standards
• Maintains configuration databases for all ADMS/SCADA application communications equipment; this includes Front End Processor (FEP) configuration as well as DNP3 and ICCP (Inter Control Center Communications Protocol) configurations
• Coordinates work efforts with Client communications providers; this includes: EMS (Energy Management System)/SCADA integrations team, Field Area Network (FAN) team, corporate network communications team as well as other 3rd party communication providers
• Coordinates work efforts with Client distribution automation engineers to ensure cohesive end-to-end ADMS/SCADA to field device operation; this requires knowledge of SCADA systems, communications networks, distribution field devices and electric distribution system operation
• Keep abreast of technology, industry and business trends to ensure that appropriate technologies are being considered in the planning process that meet organizational requirements
• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science
• 3-5 year’s relevant SCADA or electric distribution automation experience
• Experience may be considered in lieu of education
• Requires demonstrated subject matter expertise in the specified technical area
• Technical skills with regard to the following technologies: SCADA, DNP3 (Distributed Network Protocol version 3), ICCP, TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol), relational databases, Schneider OASyS SCADA, Schneider ADMS, scripting languages, Windows Server
• Must have ability to work independently with minimal direction on a daily basis
• Must possess strong analytical skills to determine information management needs through job experience in the electric utility industry
• Able to work in the United States without sponsorship
• Required for senior level:
o PE (Professional Engineer) registration in electrical engineering or control systems engineering or equivalent professional certification
o 10 years' work experience with SCADA and control systems
