Perform procurement duties related to materials, equipment, supplies and services in order to support plant activities. Work with and provide administrative support to Buyers, Senior Buyers, and Commodity Managers. This position is subject to well defined policies and procedures.
Job Description
• Perform order procurement activities including creating, tracking, expediting, confirming, and updating orders as well as resolving shipping discrepancies.
• Act as primary contact to handle day to day dealings with suppliers.
• Update purchasing data as appropriate based on supplier input and/or other Purchasing personnel requests to ensure system accuracy (Buyer code, lead time, pricing, vendor priority, etc.).
• Request quotes or quote updates for existing parts with current suppliers where no negotiation is required.
• Maintain Purchasing record keeping system and check system for accuracy and compliance to legal and internal requirements.
• Communicate with internal customers to provide them with timely, accurate, and complete information related to purchase orders and procurement data.
• Provide administrative support to Sr. Buyers and Commodity Managers: report preparation, data entry and extraction, paperwork handling, etc.
• Perform other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
• Must have 2 years of work related experience (purchasing, order entry, customer service, or administrative preferred).
• Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be organized, detail oriented, demonstrate a sense of urgency and be focused on productivity, accuracy, and timeliness.
• Must demonstrate willingness and ability to work in a team environment.
