JOB DESCRIPTION
Candidate will be responsible for supporting manufacturing and test activities for electronic assemblies used in various space launch vehicles.
• Supporting development of processes and procedures for the assembly and test of electronic assemblies
• Reviewing and approving drawings
• Documenting and dispositioning hardware discrepancies and pursuing root cause and corrective actions
• Supporting required MRB processing
• Perform inspection of components and assemblies
• Supporting manufacturing activities with supervisors, program engineers and various customer organizations
• Reviewing design changes on WIP or completed assemblies
• Analyzing data for trends and recommending changes to improve process and product quality, interfacing with suppliers for auditing and corrective action/continuous improvement related to component assemblies and parts.
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• MUST have a 4yr Engineering Degree from a conventional college, not a trade school like ITT or DeVry
• Experience with formal quality management systems (e.g. AS9100, ISO9001, TS16949 or equivalent) and other related standards required.
• Must have four (4) or more continuous years’ work history in the quality field with demonstrated knowledge of the high reliability workmanship standards and hardware/interfaces typical of the high-tech industry.
• Must be able to take direction and apply learning in the field of electrical engineering, or a related discipline, preferably as it relates to hardware manufacturing and testing.
• Basic computer skills (MS Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word) required.
• Familiarity with discrepancy reporting/tracking/resolution a plus.
• Must possess data analysis capability and Root Cause Corrective Action skills such as 8D, 5 Why, Six Sigma, etc.
• Production quality assurance experience in an aerospace environment desired.
• Ideal candidate shall possess related work experience working with electronic assembly manufacturing, cable harnesses and tooling.
• Work related experience should demonstrate increasing levels of responsibility, preferably including supervision/management.
• IPC-A610 and IPC-A600 certification is a plus.
